Magazine. She later joined the National PBS magazine and learned
the publishing side of magazines, advertising space sales. She served as the
Director of Advertising, for Asia Magazine, the Asia Society's member's magazine.
Mia Adams Designs Ltd. (established in 1997) is mainly a residential design firm, but
she has also completed a NYC law office, a Swiss bakery cafe dining room,
a golf club dining room, and has worked as an independent contractor for design firms
and upscale home furnishing establishments.
Sparked by the genuine interest from client's children to learn more about design, and fueled by her
desire to coach what she calls "intentional design", Mia has now put together a digital mix of design visualizing techniques which she calls Interior Design Zone. I.D.Z.is a summer workshop that offers teens an opportunity to "join the world of design" through a hands on design project which focuses on problem solving, design principles, color, space planning, presentation skills, internet sourcing and research, demonstration classes, and more.
"I am delighted to add extra fun and joy to the summer through the magic of design. I'm a kid at heart and I expect that this will be my happiest contribution to a field that I really do love."
Born in New York City, and raised in Westchester County, Mia graduated from The Ursuline Lower School, in New Rochelle, New York, and boarding school in Madrid, Spain and Tuxedo Park, N.Y. She is a graduate of Briarcliff College, and the N.Y. School of Interior Design. She studied window treatment design with the English interior designer and author Heather Luke, at the Calluna Workshop, in Taunton, and color and painted finishes at the National Design Academy, in Nottingham, England.
